River Rafting

A bunch of us from work went river rafting in Moab, Utah. It was absolutely beautiful up there and it was so great to get away. Check out the photos

Belly Dancing

Tonight was my first belly dancing lesson.  I must say that this is awesome.  I have been wanting to do this for a few years and I finally did it.  Now that I have, I am ready to take it on.  The class is going to be every Tuesday evening and I am extremely jazzed about this.

No Burning Man This Year

Well, sad to say, I am not going to Burning Man this year. Seems my house renovation has taken precedence. But my friends are still going and I am going to just have to hear about it from them.

The Most Fun Dress Up Playing Ever!

The boys and I went to visit Karl and ended up hanging out with him and his neighbor, Leanna. She is an extremely nice person and super fun. We drank a bunch of wine and played dress up with her endless collection of clothes, hats, shoes, and jackets. The photos may seem kind of goofy, but we had such a fun time!

32nd Birthday

Well, my birthday was awesome!! One of the better birthdays I must say. I woke up in the morning and had beer and eggs for breakfast and then laid around the pool all day. Around 4pm, I got in the shower and got ready and Karl came over and we all went out to dinner at Home Town Buffet and it was yummy. The boys were perfectly behaved. I was extremely impressed. Then we went over to Rhino for the balcony party. There were so many people there! I was surprised. It was a great party and the fireworks show lasted about 40 minutes and was just fantastic and our view of the show was perfect. I do not think anything about my birthday could have been better.

Overnight Sail Boat Adventure

What an incredible day!! Early this morning, Karl and I headed up to Lake Pleasant for a 24 hour sail boat adventure. He rented the 25 foot Catalina. We stopped at the grocery store to get some food and supplies and arrived at the lake around 9:45 and were on the boat and heading out of the dock by 11am. The winds were great and I learned a bunch about sailing. There was always something to do and I was very much ok with helping out. I learned how to watch the sails and see how they are behaving in order to determine how to set them. At times, we were heading for a particular course and had to adjust the sails to meet the wind. Other times, we were just sailing around, finding the good wind and the good direction of sail and gaining speed. We had a couple of opportunities to swim in the lake and cool off and we both got some sun in our skin.

The day was perfect and the wind was strong, so it was a great day for sailing.

SailingSailing

Around 6pm, we headed back to the dock. The wind was so strong then and the sails were just flapping. Karl got up there to drop the sails and I had to steer into the wind. I found this to be more challenging than I thought and I needed to hold onto the boom because the wind was taking it back and forth while Karl was trying to get the sails down. After all of that, we were both ready for a drink, so we pulled into the dock and tied up the boat and went up to the bar.

After a couple beers, we went back to the boat to have supper. I grilled up some portabella mushrooms in garlic and butter and Karl made some chicken stew. It was all very yummy. Our boat was docked in a perfect spot for the sunset. Wow! It was truly amazing!!!

After being in the sun all day, it was time to kick back. We ended up falling asleep on the boat deck and woke up sometime around 11pm. Then went for a walk and came back to the boat for some giggles and kiwi.

I think I fell asleep here around 3:30am or so. This is the bed. It was actually quite comfortable. Laying here, falling asleep to the sounds of water swishing and the boat swaying and birds and ducks and geese and all the sounds of the water, was just wonderful and very tranquil. I need to do this more often. I haven’t been this relaxed in a long time.

Kurt and Nichole

Well, I drove out to San Diego this morning to go to Kurt and Nicholes wedding. It was nice. I have pics here. Afterward, I went to visit a friend and see his band play at Brick by Brick in San Diego. It was very nice. I headed back to AZ around 11pm. It was quite the trip.

Grand Canyon Trip

We decided to go to the Grand Canyon today, so, all 7 of us piled into the mini-van that my Mom rented and we headed north. We stopped in Flagstaff for some lunch. I love that town. It has been so long since I have been there. I used to live there in 1990 and 1991, but that is the last time that I was there. The canyon was beautiful and the sunset was awesome!

San Diego

The boys and I went to San Diego this past weekend.  We stayed in Ocean Beach and went to the Burning Man Bonfire on Saturday night.  Saturday afternoon, we walked down to the beach.  Something about standing on the beach in San Diego that always brings tears to my eyes.  Maybe it is just the wind blowing off of the water.
