Lake Havasu

Saturday, the boys and I woke up at 4:30 and left the house at 5:30 headed for Lake Havasu. Janet and I have been talking a bit on the phone and she needed to be there on Saturday morning to pick up her son, so we decided to meet there. We had a wonderful day. We rented paddle boats and let the boys paddle us around the lake. Even Lucas helped out with his little legs pumping strong. Then we went and got some shaved ice. The banana one was my favorite. Lucas ended up have the blue-raspberry one and his entire mouth, teeth and face ended up being blue. Then we found a nice shaded area on the grass and colored easter eggs. We headed back home around 2:30 and arrived back home around 5:30. It was so nice that it was a short trip. We had a great time and did not feel sad when it was time to go because we had a full day.

Easter morning was nice. The boys searched for eggs and then ate them all. My friend Julie had come over Saturday night and we stayed up drinking and talking until 4am and then we hid the easter eggs. I still managed wake up at 8am and do the easter egg hunt with the boys and then get started on the yard work. I managed to get a lot done this weekend on the landscaping and will have pictures in my home improvement section tonight.

Lake Havasu

Julie and I drove up to Lake Havasu to meet some friends and go out on the boat.  We had a good time, but we had an even better time later when she and I went out on our own and got crazy.

On the drive back, we ran across this weird art exhibit type thing in the middle of nowhere and stopped to take a look.  It was definitely interesting.

Here are the photos

Burning Man

Burning Man was excellent this year. Better than ever. Pictures will hopefully be here soon. I did not take very many this year. I found myself just really enjoying the whole experience and not really worried about capturing it on film. I made some wonderful new friends this year and was able to visit some friends from prior years. Now I can begin planning for next year. If I met you at Burning Man, drop me a line and say hello. I love you all.

Michael Bliss Band

Mark and I went to see The Michael Bliss Band last night at Rock Bottom in La Jolla.  Those of you who know me know that this is by far my favorite local band.  They are incredible.  Those of you who have not had a chance to see one of their shows, you have to come with me to the next one.  I first saw them about two years ago at a small bar in Carlsbad.   I was really amazed.  I go see bands all the time, but these guys were just incredible.  Well, the last few months, they were going through a bunch of changes and were taking a break, which was a real bummer for me (and them I imagine).  They had to find a new guitar player, which was not going to be an easy task because their guitar player was incredible before.  Last night, though, as soon as I got there, I saw Jimmy Patton.  They got Jimmy Patton to be their guitar player.  Now if you never went to a Jimmy Patton show with me, darn, you missed out.  He used to play at the Naked Bean when I first started watching him play, and lately, he has been doing shows in the gas lamp and stuff.  He plays two guitars at once and does it so incredibly well, it blows me away.  Mix him with The Michael Bliss Band and…..Wow!  It was great!  Plus Cheryl Bliss sang a couple of her songs and she  has a great voice and energy.  You have to go to the next show.  Check out my whats happening section to find out when they are playing next.

Julian

A bunch of us went up to Julian yesterday to play in the snow.  So many people were up there.  Amazing how a little snow attracts so many San Diegans.  On our way up to Julian, we stopped and had pie and hot cider and carmel apples and pumpkin spice bread and all kinds of really good stuff.  When we got to Julian, we found an empty parking lot at the local library and had a snow ball fight.  Lots of fun.  My sister managed to shove snow down my cleavage, I managed to nail her and her friends a couple times, but mostly my aim was off, I made a penis sculpture in the snow, and all in all we had a great time.  We sort of saw the sunset, but mostly missed it because it happened during the most intense part of our snow ball fight.

Club Xanth

Club Xanth was incredible last night.  I was not quite sure what to expect, but it was great.  The music, the atmosphere, seeing my friends, dancing so much that I was soaked with sweat by the end of the night, the fire dancers, twirlers, spinners, drummers, etc.  Oh, my gosh, the drummers were incredible!!!  I was truly impressed.  I had a great time.  It was so nice to see my friends…DivaLisa, CelaFire, Bruce, Juliana, and everyone else.  All my new friends…Great dancing with you all.  For all of you who missed it…sorry.

Type O Negative

So, I went to the Type O Negative concert last night at Canes in Pacific Beach.  I went with my X, who is also my very best male friend.  He’s the guy who knows me inside and out.  Anyway, I met a girl there, also.  She was great.  I rarely meet girls that I can connect with, but there she was . I couldn’t believe how much we had in common.  The concert was great too, and afterward, we talked a bit, and then she had to go, because she had to get up early today, but we are planning on getting together soon.

Afterward, my X and I went to The Flame in Hillcrest.  That was great also.  More pretty women than I have seen in one place in a long time.  I danced among them, and it was like heaven!!

Burning Man Bon Fire

Went to the Burning Man bon fire Saturday.  Met a lot of really fun people.  Some people that I have only known in cyber space, and now I have a face to put to the name.  I saw a lot of old friends that I haven’t seen since the actual Burning Man event in August.  Going to these events is so wonderful.  These are the people that I feel most comfortable and at home with.
